ROBERT PARKER RATES THREE WINES BY ANGEL CALLEJA, AGRICOLA CASTELLANA´S WINEMAKER

On March 5th have been published the so expected ratings by Robert Parker about Spanish Wines commercialised in USA. Three wines from Agricola Castellana have been rated and selected as “ the best buy” under 20$. Therefore, the wines which have been rated are: AZUMBRE VERDEJO VENDIMIA SELECCIONADA 2007 89 points CUATRO RAYAS VERDEJO 100% 88 points VACCEOS DO RUEDA 2007 86 points Jay Miller, in his introduction to Spanish wines, points out ….. “Spanish wines continue to be in fuego in a highly competitive wine market” “There are many food-friendly wines that, in keeping with current fashion, are not Chardonnay (which barely exists there). Albariño has already established a foothold with Verdejo and Godello coming on strong. Even with our weakened dollar, almost all of them remain under $20 a bottle”
