Starting July 1, 2010, Cuatro Rayas is the official sponsor of Valladolid‘s Handball Team

Valladolid, July 1, 2010. - Cuatro Rayas, the D.O. Rueda winery, has signed on for the next two seasons as the principal sponsor of Valladolid‘s Handball team.  The team will now be known as Cuatro Rayas Valladolid Handball.  The agreement was reached last March, but the official start date was not until yesterday, July 1.

 Vicente Orihuela, the winery‘s General Director, stated, "We‘ve decided to venture strongly into this affiliation with sports through our sponsorship of Valldolid Handball, since we consider the team and Cuatro Rayas winery to be examples of effort and tenacity backed by a great fan base and a great brand."

While this sponsorship marks the greatest venture that the winery has yet made on sports, it has always desired to participate in diverse activities such as the Great Celebration of Sport that was organized together with the Eusebio Sacristan Foundation and UNICEF, where more than 1,000 children enjoyed sports alongside their idols, along with the Cuatro Rayas Golf Open or numerous collaborations with the basketball team Rueda Whites.
